Facebook’s Overhaul Impresses with its Dark Mode and New Design

Regardless of how diversified the Facebook universe is, improvements are always welcomed. As the social network owned by Mark Zuckerberg is constantly trying to find ways of keeping the users and even gather new ones, a new update has gone live these days.

Facebook has been testing for months a new design, and it finally became official. The overhaul means a completely new design, a dark mode, and more.

Faster load times

The design has been simplified along with the new look of Facebook, and this automatically means faster loading for pages. The company suggests that they had drawn inspiration from the mobile app when they built the new desktop version:

We’ve built new features, optimized for new devices and operating systems, and expanded to hundreds of languages. Recently we’d focused on the mobile Facebook experience, and realized our desktop site had fallen behind. People need it to keep up.

The dark mode is one of the most demanded features for apps, in general. Such an improvement makes the battery to last longer, it relaxes the eyes, and more.

If you thought that WhatsApp had recently reached an unbelievable amount of users (2 billion), Facebook had even surpassed that number. And we’re excluding the fact that Facebook owns WhatsApp. Therefore, the social network Facebook has over 2.6 billion monthly active users for the first quarter of the current year.

But trying to decide if Facebook is better on mobile devices than on desktop is truly challenging. Therefore, maybe a part of the description of the app from Google Play Store will convince us:

The Facebook app does more than help you stay connected with your friends and interests. It’s also your personal organizer for storing, saving and sharing photos. It’s easy to share photos straight from your Android camera, and you have full control over your photos and privacy settings.

It’s exciting to see how will the new update impact the number of Facebook users for the near future.
