Huawei Prepares its Own Operating System for Smartphones as an Alternative to Android

After the US inflicted sanctions on Huawei last year, the Chinese brand was forced to release smartphones that were lacking the Android operating system created by Google. But Huawei seems prepared to equip smartphones with its own operating system in 2021, and it will be called HarmonyOS.

Huawei already released the second version of HarmonyOS, and it will be the alternative to the well-known Android operating system in 2021. The move is not surprising at all, considering that Huawei even surpassed Samsung in the number of sold smartphones in the last several months. The Chinese company keeps growing and releasing powerful phones, which means that it’s practically condemned to maintain the same rhythm.

The CEO himself said it

Richard Yu, who’s the CEO of Huawei’s consumer division, said:

Maybe starting from next year we will see smartphones with HarmonyOS,

The man even confirmed for CNBC that HarmonyOS would arrive on Huawei’s new phones in 2021. Huawei also said that a beta version of its operating system would be available to developers, and for smartwatches, TVs, and in-car head units starting from September 10 and for smartphones in December.

If we want to remind ourselves about some of the best phones that Huawei has within its arsenal, we can mention: Huawei P30 Pro, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei P30, Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei P40, Huawei Mate 30 Pro, Huawei P40 Pro Plus, Huawei Mate 20, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei P30 Lite, Huawei Mate Xs, and many more.

The P50 Pro smartphone model is one of the most anticipated gadgets that Huawei will bring in 2021. We can expect the Chinese manufacturer to insist as much as possible in the 5G area since more and more smartphones are becoming equipped with the new technology. 5G connectivity is the choice of the future, as it will speed up the internet tremendously.
