Most boys wanted to become astronomers when they were little. Although such a privilege is surely not possible for all adults, the good news is that little things and behaviors can make us feel like true astronauts. And how could you possibly be a real astronaut unless you smell like one?
As odd and funny as it may sound to most of us, this seemed to be what NASA employees had in mind: making the cosmic fragrance available for anybody who’s willing to pay for it.
People have pledged over $300,000 for the cosmic perfume
Now, “through sheer determination, grit, a lot of luck and a couple of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, we got it out,” the product’s website said. It’s called “Eau de Space.”, and the Kickstarter campaign tries to raise enough money for creating the fragrance.
The website further added:
We’re ready to manufacturer the smell and all we need is (to) meet our minimum order quantity and then we can bottle and ship it,
And here’s the upcoming result:
But surely most of us have no idea how outer space smells. Well, the opinions of the astronomers are diverse. Some say that outer space smells like lingering gun powder, while others compare it mostly to burned cookies.
NASA continues its ambitious plans regarding space and its exploration. If everything goes according to the plan, the American space agency will send humans back to the Moon by 2024 during the Artemis program. That mission will practically mean the beginning of a much greater cosmic journey. The next goal is a trip to Mars, and many astronomers across the globe are hoping that humanity will one day build a colony on the Red Planet.
As for ‘Eau de Space’, let’s just hope that the ladies will like the way it smells.
