OnePlus Prepares to Release its First Phone That Breaks The $1,000 Barrier

OnePlus is one of those Chinese smartphone manufacturers that have grown tremendously in the latest years. Huawei has the lead, surpassing even Samsung in the last months. But OnePlus certainly cannot comply with the current position, and its upcoming 8T lineup of smartphones has some interesting things to offer.

Thanks to GSMArena, we know some prices for the OnePlus 8T. While the version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will cost 799 euros, the variant packing 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will sell for 100 euros more.

OnePlus 8T Pro is the star of the show

The leak doesn’t mention the OnePlus 8T Pro model, but we can still assume a price increase. 8T Pro doesn’t actually represent an impressive upgrade over the OnePlus 8 Pro model as the latter was over its predecessor. Therefore, our guess is that the 8T Pro model will be the first phone created by the Chinese company that will be breaking the $1,000 barrier for a piece.

Let’s not forget that OnePlus has been steadily increasing the cost of its smartphones. The OnePlus 8 Pro device was the most expensive phone created by the Chinese company, selling for 899 euros. The two OnePlus 8 devices are powered by the Snapdragon 865 and they both possess 5G connectivity. The Pro model stands out for being the company’s first handset that offers wireless charging and also IP68 water-resistant phone.

Paying around 1,000 bucks for a phone in 2020 isn’t surprising at all, especially if it supports the 5G connectivity. And any 5G smartphone also packs high-end specifications regarding the chipset, the amount of RAM, the GPU, and so on. OnePlus 8T Pro also qualifies for the description, and we can’t wait to see it on the shelves.
