Rent-A-Girlfriend has managed to become one of the most popular series of this year, and it has made this summer easier to go through. The season finale will premiere this week, and we want to know if the romantic comedy will have a second season.
Two things to keep in mind
It is good to keep in mind that there are two factors which influence this kind of decision: the source material and the popularity of the show. We’ve learned that Rent-A-Girlfriend is the second most popular anime series that’s currently airing on Netflix, Japan. The first one is the Fire Force.
Then we have the manga series, which is still ongoing and has more than 150 published chapters. According to some sources, the first season only reaches 50 chapters, which means that there is more than enough material for a second season. It’s probably enough to make a third season, as well.
As of now, we are waiting for an official confirmation of the second season.
So when is a possible release date?
As of now, we have no official confirmation for the second season, but we expect its premiere to be in summer 2021 – should it be renewed.
As it was previously said, one of the biggest factors is the source material, and the producers have enough to make two more seasons now. The problem stands in the fact that we are still dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, which still causes problems when it comes to producing anime series. We are expecting a releasing summer 2021
