We are thrilled to tell you that one of the most popular video games out there is being made into a TV show, and it’s all thanks to Netflix. The project is still under development, but we are here to tell you all we know so far about it.
All we know about Resident Evil Season 1
The Capcom video game Resident Evil will be turned into an original series for the Netflix streaming giant. This franchise is very popular – and important for the industry – it has sequels, novels, and movies made in the past years.
About the script
As of now, we don’t have an exact release date, but the streaming giant has made a statement, saying that the script is almost done and that the first title is Welcome to New Raccoon city. Netflix has chosen an incredible team for this project. The showrunner is Andrew Dabb, who has worked on Supernatural. There’s also Bronwen Hughes, who worked on the Walking Dead, and who will direct the first two episodes of the series. According to some sources, there will be eight episodes in total, so one episode would be long enough. The filming process will take place in South Africa.
The series will expand the existing universe
As of now, we don’t know much about the plot of the original series, but it has been said that the series will expand the Resident Evil universe and the existing mythology. Right now, we have no information about the cast of the new series. We do know that the production has been halted because of the pandemic.
