The Epic Games Store is home for numerous exciting titles for the gamers to enjoy, and from time to time, the service offers a free-to-grab game. The latest offer is tempting beyond belief: the insanely-popular GTA V is available for free. But it looks like the ones running the game store didn’t take into account one crucial aspect.
As a result, gamers had flooded the Epic Games Store in their desperate attempt to get GTA V for their PCs ASAP. The online store became overwhelmed and it crashed, as the following post on Twitter says:
We are currently experiencing high traffic on the Epic Games Store.
We are aware that users may be encountering slow loading times, 500 errors, or launcher crashing at this time and we are actively working to scale. We'll provide an update as soon as we can.

We don’t know yet how long this situation will last, but hopefully, it will pass away soon.
When is GTA 6 coming?
While a whole gaming world is eagerly waiting to see GTA 6 running on PC or consoles, some speculations lead to another wild hypothesis. The developers might consider updating the online mode of GTA 5 (aka GTA Online) as much as possible, so that there won’t be any use of a brand new GTA title anymore. Rockstar is providing weekly updates to GTA Online in the form of discounts, bonuses, and brand new content.
As Rockstar itself says about GTA Online:
In Grand Theft Auto Online, you’ll have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.
However, you should try to take advantage of the best virtue of all when it comes to get GTA 5 free from the Epic Games Store: have some patience. You have plenty of time at your disposal to get the insanely popular open-world role-playing game until May 21 when the offer from the Epic Game Store expires.
