The Witcher 4 News – CD Projekt Red Strikes a New Deal with Andrzej Sapkowski

The Witcher TV series has aired on Netflix earlier this week and millions of people are rating it as 5/5 show. After all, this was to be expected since the TV series is based on the books written by Andrzej Sapkowski. These are the same books that CD Projekt RED’s famous Witcher game trilogy is based on. The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is considered to be one of the best RPG games ever made and from the looks of it, CD Projekt RED might be getting ready to start working on The Witcher 4.

CD Projekt RED Makes New Deal with Andrzej Sapkowski

As some of you Witcher fans might already know, the creator of the Witcher universe is not too happy with the games. He made the wrong decision of picking $20,000 instead of accepting stock shares from CD Projekt RED. Andrzej Sapkowski didn’t anticipated the success of the video games and he missed out on a great deal.

Fortunately, the tension between CD Projekt Red and Andrzej Sapkowski is no longer. The reason why we are saying that is because the game developer has made a new deal with the creator. “The agreement confers new rights upon the company and reaffirms its existing title to ‘The Witcher’ intellectual property in developing videos games, graphic novels, board games, and merchandise,” said Andrzej Sapkowski.

When is Witcher 4 Coming?

The new deal makes it clear that CD Projekt RED is planning to eventually start working on Witcher 4. The question that remains is when will this happen? Unfortunately, the much-anticipated game is not going to launch anytime soon. CD Projekt RED is currently working on Cyberpunk 2077 which is scheduled to launch in 2020 and the game developer is going to focus on this title for the upcoming years.
