The Witcher is one of the most popular Netflix series out there right now, and fans are wondering when season 2 will be released. Some say that The Witcher has been cancelled. We’re here to put those rumours on the rest.
Everyone was looking forward to seeing this show. Everyone was talking about it, and after Game of Thrones ended in 2019, it was like a breath of fresh air.
Henry Cavill stars in the series, and it has been a total hit since it was first released in December 2019. However, it’s been more than 10 months now, and we still have no trailer available for season 2. Fans have been wondering whether season 2’s been cancelled or not.
Is the series cancelled?
Because of all the hype with the first season, Netflix renewed The Witcher for season 2 before season one actually started airing. So when season one ended, fans were excited to see what’s next. But we got nothing so far, and there may be a good reason for it.
Season 2 is clearly on its way. The Witcher is among those series that had to be put on pause because of the COVID-19 lockdown. Filming was supposed to happen in Spring 2020. However, they were forced to hold production. They stopped the filming process until August. Currently, they are still filming season 2, and it will probably be released in 2021.
